Puzzle game Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon has been confirmed for release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game will feature cross-buy and cross-cloud save for the PlayStation versions of the game.

"In Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon, out soon for PS4 and PS Vita, you play a jumping spider," said Tiger Style creative director Randy Smith. "You can walk on walls and ceilings, jump, and use your silk to create threads. Draw any shape with those threads and it’ll form a web, which is how you catch the variety of insects found at each location. As you make your way from room to room, you’ll slowly realize that you’re exploring an abandoned estate, one riddled with mysteries, clues, and puzzles. Like any good spider, you leave the place covered in cobwebs."

Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon will first be released for the PC and iOS platforms on August 6th.

Riot has killed off the League of Legends hero Gangplank; a champion that people have paid for.

As you might expect, people who have paid to play as Gangplank are not happy and are demanding refunds.

"Champion death is unprecedented in League of Legends, and we do not take it lightly," Riot said on the League of Legends forums. "We encourage all Gang plank fans to remain calm for a few days until we can fully assess the situation. At this time, we are not addressing refund requests for him or his skins but please know that over the next several days we’ll do our best to make things right for everyone."

Yokoyama Masayoshi (Yakuza series producer) has confirmed that his team is currently recruiting new staff to help out on a new title - and it's not a Yakuza title.

Since its formation in 2011, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has only made one non-Yakuza game, and that was Binary Domain.

Masayoshi’s talk of it being a high-end video game should also quell any fear of it being a mobile or F2P game. Hopefully we'll find out what the studio has up its sleeve at the Tokyo Game Show, which takes place in September.

Yager Productions GMBH has filed for insolvency after being dropped from Dead Island 2 by Deep Silver.

The wider Yager studio will not be affected by this move, according to Yager’s Timo Ullmann:

"As single-purpose company, Yager Productions GmbH was assigned to the development of the Deep Silver title Dead Island 2... the insolvency filing is a direct result from the early termination of the project and helps protecting our staff. In the course of the proceedings, we gain time to sort out the best options for reorganizing this entity."

Therefore Yager will continue to develop Dreadnought as well as other currently unannounced projects.

Final Fantasy VII's game director, Tetsuya Nomura, has told OPM that his team will be making 'dramatic changes' to Final Fantasy VII's combat gameplay in the remake.

Nomura subsequently clarified his comment, saying "And of course, that being said we want to clarify: We’re not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that. We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it’s still recognizable."

Exactly what Nomura and his development team has planned is anyone's guess, although Nomura hints at Advent Children inspiring the changes, but one things clear - the game's Active Time Battle System won't be the same.
